Involvement Opportunities
Birth Control Pill Pricing Legislative Advocacy
The Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, which went into effect earlier
this year, forced college health centers across the country to raise
their prices for birth control pills since discounts were no longer
available to them. Wesleyan was affected as well, with prices
increasing from $10 per pack to $20. If you wish to let your voice
be heard on this important issue,

SHAC
The
Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) is seeking new members!
If you are interested in addressing health issues on campus and wish
to advise Health Services on how to better serve the health needs of
students, visit the SHAC website to learn more and to apply.

Tips for a Healthier You
Irn
Coury '06 tipped WesWELL off to the
development of fair trade condoms by
UK-based French Letter Condom Company. While they will be quite
expensive
(about £9.99 for 4) when
available later this month, the latex used to make the
condoms is sourced from rubber producers in India and Sri Lanka who
have
been working with
FairDeal Trading, makers of fine Fair Trade sports equipment,
for years. FairDeal Trading is the only company in the world paying
a Fair Trade
premium for latex rubber.
