Gino Caro, President of Fast Lane Speed Training Systems will focus on learning how to train for a 5K, Half-Marathon, Marathon, Triathlon for the first time.

-Strategies on training, do's and don'ts
-Techniques on designing a good program that will include distance training, interval training,flexibility and strength training
-Mental and physical approach on racing for the first time
-Setting goals
-Symptoms of over training that may lead to injuries
-Proper nutrition for training

Feed Your Brain Series: Vegetarian/Vegan Cooking Skills

Struggling with how to create a well-balanced vegetarian/vegan diet for yourself?AND cook it?  Participate in cooking some simple, inexpensive and healthy meals while learning basic cooking skills, what equipment you'll need to stock your kitchen and developing healthy eating habits...then we'll dig into our creations. "Feed Your Brain" is a four-part series developed and presented by Aramark, Athletics, Health Services and WesWELL on various aspects of healthy eating.       

Better Sleep for Better Health

Scientists have yet to fully understand why we need to sleep. But we do know that getting enough good quality sleep is as important as good nutrition and exercise habits in terms of their benefits to your health.  However, sleep tends to be the one thing we sacrifice when we get busy or stressed. Learn about the value of good quality sleep habits and how to create a positive sleep environment to help balance the lack of sleep you may be experiencing. Presented by Lisa Currie, Director of Health Education
