Eric Boon ’10 is a rising senior from Abington, PA, where he attended Abington Senior High School.  At Wesleyan, he is double majoring in physics and chemistry, and he rows for the crew team.  He plans to go for either an engineering degree or a graduate degree in physical chemistry.

Hui (Maya) Chang '11 is from Taiwan and Bethel, CT.  She attended Bethel High School.  She is a chemistry major, and likes music and tennis.  After Wesleyan, she plans to attend graduate school in chemistry.

Jadeene Gabay is a rising senior ('10) from Brooklyn, New York.  He attended Mt. Greylock Regional High School through the A Better Chance program. He is a Chemistry major with a concentration in biochemistry. Jadeene is a member of the Wesleyan Track & Field Team and is currently learning to play guitar.  He hopes to attend to graduate school after Wesleyan.

Thomas Kuntz is a rising sophomore ('12) from Rockland, New York.  He attended Clarkstown South High School.  He plans to major in Chemistry and possibly Physics.  He also has a strong interest in music and plays bass.

Kelvin Kwofie '12 is a rising sophomore from Tema, Ghana.  He attended United World College of the Atlantic.  He plans to major in chemistry and possibly French.  He plays club soccer and dances occasionally.  He hopes to go to a medical school after Wesleyan but he is still thinking about his options.

Lisa Lach is a rising junior ('11) chemistry major from Framingham, Massachusetts where she attended Framingham High School. She enjoys traveling, foreign cuisines, playing sports and supporting Boston sports teams. She hopes to pursue a career in scientific research.

Abstract

Katherine Leon '10 is from Queens, NY and attended Bronx High School of Science.  She likes Latin literature and watching baseball. After graduation, she plans to work for a while, and then apply to graduate school in chemistry.

Samuel "Sam" Maritim, '10 is a rising senior whose hometown is Kapsabet, Kenya, where he attended Kapsabet Boys’ High School.  At Wesleyan, he is a chemistry major who is also a sprinter for the track team.  He enjoys watching soccer, making new friends, and cooking new and interesting dishes; he also loves Boston.  After Graduation, he hopes to go to graduate school to learn chemical engineering or pharmaceutical care.  He would like to go back and work in Kenya.

Rithika Mathias  '10 is a chemistry major from Andover, MA, where she attended  Andover High School.  Her interests are playing the piano and organ, cooking, and trying new foods.

Noreen Nkosana '11 is a rising junior from Harare, Zimbabwe, where she attended Harare High School.  She is a chemistry major. She enjoys playing and watching soccer, watching TV, and listening to music.  After Wesleyan she plans to go to medical school or study chemical engineering or pharmacy.

Noumaan Shamsi is a rising senior ('10) from Karachi, Pakistan.  He attended Karachi Grammar School. He is a Chemistry major, with a focus on Organic Chemistry. Interests and activities include working for Residential Life, eating spicy food, playing console games, and watching foreign language films. He plans on pursuing Graduate school in Organic Chemistry after graduation, ideally after taking a year off to go back to Pakistan to teach Chemistry or to go to China to teach English

Ernest Sliwinski, ‘10, was born in Lublin, Poland, and he currently lives in CT where he attended Francis T. Maloney High School. He is majoring in Chemistry and Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. He enjoys volunteering in the community and after Wesleyan he plans to attend medical school.

Abstract

Nelson Zwane (AKA King) is a rising sophomore ('12) from Siteki, Swaziland.  He did his college prep at the United World College-USA after attending Good Shepard Catholic High in Swaziland.  He plans to major in Chemistry and MB&B with a particular interest in NMR imaging studies. King plays on the Wesleyan soccer B team and club and intramurals and he likes Hip hop and kwaito music. He has a vision of helping alleviate if not eradicate HIV/AIDS in Africa.
