applications for a tenure-track faculty position beginning
July 1, 2009
in experimental chemistry with a focus on material
science, particularly
in the areas of nanomaterials or biomaterials.
The successful candidate
will exhibit potential for excellence in
teaching at the undergraduate and
graduate level and will be
expected to establish an externally funded
research program.
The Chemistry Department is well equipped and has an
active
Ph.D. program involving 13 full-time and 3 part-time faculty and
35 graduate students and postdoctoral associates. Salary, fringe
benefits,
and start-up funds will be competitive. Interested
candidates should
submit a curriculum vitae, a description of
research plans, and a statement
of teaching philosophy, and
should arrange to have three letters of
recommendation sent to
the Chair of the Search Committee, Department
of Chemistry,
